Toy Viewing : Dare Devil of Marvel Legends

A sneak peek of Dare Devil from his portrait bring upon curiosity of his appearance and acts of dare.

He has been part of my Marvel collection since the beginning of Marvel Legends but have stash him away in a box. However, I still have some pictures to share of him except for his diorama which he came with.

Nevertheless, he is a replica of the movie edition which is why I picked him up. I always render movie edition figures as my primary choice of figures if they are worth collecting.

This figure resembles Ben Affleck who starred in the movie and from his face sculpt, you can see his five '0' clock shadow.

So he is in some acts of fun....

History : Action figure of the 90's - WereWolf

Seeing how far toys technology has advanced over the decades leads us to observe the loss and gain of a toy's playability. In our quest of action figures, figures have gain in numbers of articulation, detail sculpting combine with amazing paint application then bundle in a well design package to attract collectors or children.

Over here, I shall make use of this action figure made in the 90's to show a representation of the fun factor of an action figure back then and we can see how far we are now.

Do you still think he is a great figure now? Appreciate it from then and you will not be surprised on such simple tricks fantasize us. It is just imaginably fun besides the pure appearance. He can still win hands down over some figures produced today.

This is what 90's standard kicks in that sets today's level. Give credits to the heroes back then.

What's the Catch? : MATRIX APU

Another great find with years of patience and chance upon this APU from the Matrix movie produced by McFarlane.

Almost everybody knows the movie and even watch it. Apart from the plot, McFarlane has produced a truly commendable movie replica of the APU which is cited in the last battle in Zion. This is the APU in Mifune's last stand!

Set aside the movie, the toy itself is insanely packed with details that can be referred to the actual machine however, after going through all the reviews in the market, fragility is the problem here for this menace.

Many suffered breakage even before the release from it's cargo. Bad news !!!

However, nothing can kill the good about this toy for it's detail that comes with it. If you have seen the AMP vehicle from Avatar, you can just stash that aside and put this in the throne of your collection.

Without further a do, I can only show you the box and a movie clip for refreshment.

For time being, I think he is still better off in this window display box.

Collection Exposed : Twins from the Matrix

Long time have I kept them in seclusion and yet to release them to the real world.

Here are the twins from the Matrix, swift fearsome and rare in figures they are. Created by McFarlane, they adds up some of my toy treasure chest. Highly detailed but sad on the articulation as usual.

I don't think they have proper names except Twin 1 & 2, just like B1 & B2 in the Bananas in Perjamas

The remaining characters of the set as follows

What's the Catch? : Mecha Hulk !!!

This is one awesome catch which I need to share out BIG!

It's the Mecha Hulk from Toybiz, which I have been trying to hunt him down for quite some time. Known for it's somewhat hefty price to bring him down, I managed to gather up my reasonable sums to acquire him.

However, he comes loose and slightly incomplete but still within my expectations since I do not need the missing parts which I will share later.

Great sculpting and paint work which some says looks like custom. From head to toe, he is packed with details and mass for an 8 inch action figure and makes him one of the highly priced single action figure produced by Toybiz lines in the open market now.

Head looks Terminator endoskeleton. Long arms of a gorilla. Mechanical features of a cyborg. He is not a bit like a Hulk except for his green paint. He can be anybody.

Comes with the gremlin which is also highly detailed for it's size and simple 4 points articulation, which makes it 2 figures when you get them.

The only parts which my Mecha Hulk went missing are his nipple missiles which I personally can live without them. That makes him safe as he got nothing to launch now, no issues on clearance.

So if you need more detail reviews before you decide, there are aplenty out there for you to view.

Here comes the Mecha Hulk, arggggg......

Collection Exposed : Marvel Universe SDCC Sentinel

Having gotten my Sentinel from Toybiz, I am truly satisfied with this big guy from Toybiz. Win hands down for it's paint work and details and articulation.

Years later, Hasbro took over the production of Marvel Legends, they went into Marvel Universe except they become smaller so that our universe become bigger in scale. They gave us the giants again, beginning with Galactus and now the Sentinel.

Frankly, this guy still cannot match up to the Toybiz version per my personal opinion but he do have his traits. Cleverly packed in a carded form and a huge box packaged with comic art. Boom !!! This is a real toy surprise in a big form.

When you get this guy in package, it is already an exhilarating experience, then the huge carded back and I got blown away.

The figure itself may not be as detail as the prior but he comes with sound and many sounds. Colour tone is great and he is more towards the cartoon version.

There is another retail version but I still prefer this one. Great packaging, big figure and a real toy.

I recommend to get this in mint package even before you open him. It is an experience to just open him out for the first time. How often you get to open such a big action figure out of the box and out of a card back?

What's the Catch? : Mrs Claus

Christmas is over for 2012 but it has not arrive for this year. Looking on this side of the year, we are less the 12 months to Christmas now !!!

Before the end of last Christmas, I managed to clinch a figure from my wishlist, who is Mrs Claus.

A younger and sexier days of her depicted in pole dancing, which is not a very educational part to play.

However, being young and sexy does have her appeal in every sense for the North Pole. Hopefully, she brings on hope for this year Christmas again.

Created by McFarlane, she is needless to say, a very well sculpted figure which is less of her articulation. All she can do is to cling onto the lollipop pole and swing. A very fine display piece but a not so playable action figure.

Apart from being sexy, her face is well done not medium rare and figure is proportionally exemplifies. Not overly busted like those anime figures out there which seems to be implanted heavily with gels.

Maybe, I may release her from her bubble enclosure for a detail viewing but for the time being, here is she for another reason to be joyous !!!

Collection Exposed : Battle-Cry Uruk-Hai

From the Lord of the Rings, seen in the Battle of Helms Deep during the Two Towers, this Uruk-Hai locks on the battalions of Uruk-Hais through his cries and wave of torch.

Created by the then ToyBiz, he is one of the less significant figures in the show but one of a kind action figures in the LOTR collection.

What's the Catch : Terminator T-1000

I'll be back but this time, comes the T-1000 terminator, who is slim, agile and super flexible form.

Back in the 90's, the show shower a storm over the silver screen with a WOW....visual effects showing the liquid metal terminator forms seamlessly.

In the Movie Maniacs, McFarlane created this version of the T-1000, which he still consider a great piece of action figure.

Although he is not very articulated but given the details and form, this is a piece of art to own.

He is here for you to judge.

Collection Exposed : Apocalypse the Marvel Legends

Recently, I claimed the Sentinel, now I claimed the Apocalypse and next ??? (Soon to be revealed).

This Apocalypse has been passing by my sight and I have doubts getting him until I decides to get only the black version and at my reasonable price.

So many complaints on his heavy top and unbalance posture that makes me put him off time and again. But I cannot deny that he is a fine piece of BAF done by ToyBiz and will not be in production ever again. So before he gets into the spiral price up. I better take him down.

With his 2 tentacles and heavy top with a menacing look, he is one bad ass which you cannot turn your back away from him unless you start running for your life.

But in terms of color and articulation, he gets in all for a big figure like him.

Mine still suffers an imbalance issue and quite a task just to get him to stand upright. He sure needs some support.

All in all, claim him before he claims you !!!
