Toys Dairy : True Devils of the Universe

Dear Dairy,

Today I bought in my long awaited Masters of the Universe action figures.

Chance upon an App that trades toys. I type..." Masters of the Universe". Pop out a collector who is eager to sell. Wow! I saw loose figures of Beastman, Mer-man, Trapjaw, Faker and a few more.

Price is not right but I need to ask. No ask no gain.

30 minutes later, a private message from seller. " Negotiable with more figures to run along."

Then came the picking and negotiations. Finally giving in to my weakness, I plunge into the abyss of MOTUC again.

It started with 4 figures, then another 3 and finally, gather up 8 figures which I will release the surprises.

The excitement of purchase comes the decision to let go some of my collection. I have managed to reduced my damage by 50% by selling some toys and freeing some space.

Collection is not only about buying but also to learn to let go and reduce cost, control emotions. It's a package of fun learning of yourself indeed.

May the control be with me.....

Oops, there comes another good deal.......

Some Toys which I never thought I will Venture into......Bandai Monsters

Amidst the collecting chaos where collecting is waning in this period of uncertainty!

I crawled into a new line of collecting. Bandai monsters!

This year marks the first time ever I venture into buying my first vinyl monsters from Bandai.

Funny thing is the only figure I know is Godzilla. Now I bought 1989 King Ghidora, 1995 Gamera, 1985 Angeilas, 1991 Godzilla Ghido Goji (at 14 inches tall), 1994 Orochi (Eight Headed Dragon) and recent 6 inch Shin Gojira.

Span just over 2 month, I caught the fever with the cluster of 6 wonderful monsters and start learning about the history of these wonderful toys.

I hope to stay just on the low and budget end restricting to earlier Bandai figures that I like. Trying to keep focus and small.

Well you can't have everything.

So here are some damage done.

Mutant Wolverine turns Werewolf Beast turns more Beastier

When Wolverine turns into werewolf.

Imagine Werewolf with deadlier claws.

He is from the earlier series of Mutant Marvel. An old school figure with howling sound which I have nt tested it.

For Beast, I would say he just turns more Beast. I still keeping him in box to enjoy the wholesomeness of 90's action figures.

The raw sculpt tells his age.

Mandroid of Marvel

This is how toys are played and imagine when you cannot get a proper head on.

The Kilowog head from DC Universe of Cyborg Superman which I got, have no purpose for the BAF. I kept the head and of course it does not fit. But it looks awesome in the Mandroid suit. Doesn't he !

The Ultimate #Venom of #Marvel Select

The Ultimate Venom from Marvel Select !!!

Finally, another holy grail of Marvel Select hunted down.

I got the variant without the symbol and I think he shows off the origins of sculpting and paint work of black and purple.

The best part by looking from the package is the head. The rest will be left for investigation IF I open him out, which is very unlikely for now. He might just stay inside for admiration.

Marvel Legends Damage Done ! Giant Man-Annihilus-HulkBuster

Been missing out posting but am still hunting for action figures.

Damage continue to rise although I am trying to lower by trading out some figures at the same time.
But damage always won over trade out.

Here are some ultimate Legends which I hunt down. Among them, I double a second for Giant Man and Hulkbuster as the current is still in package which I still want to keep them as MISB for now.

Annihilus BAF is not in my want list but at a good price, I give him a try. I must say, he surprises me indeed. This is one figure you have to hold it to know it's menace. I believe he is conceptualized by Toybiz and sold as Hasbro, as he is the leading phase of Hasbro taking over Marvel Legends. This  may be the case for Fin Fang Foom. However, it is not officially justified and just my assumptions based on the articulations ans sculpting comparing to the actual start off of Hasbro Marvel Legends.

I decided to land on another build up Giant Man simply because I do not want to tear out my complete set of Giant Man series from Toybiz. The figures have down in value because of new Marvel Legends. I think staying in package will be the best to maintain a better value than loose figures. How many times you get to build a Giant Man from scratch. I shall leave it for future. For now, I am happy for a standing Giant Man to complete my set of BAF Giants of Toybiz.

Next comes a loose and complete Hulkbuster from Toybiz. The seller adds on an Iron Man mask which I guess should be from Hasbro series.

Some great giants to share with you.

Classic Masters of the Universe - King Grayskull and Gygor Pick!

Nothing beats the pick of King Grayskull and Cygor.

Have been eyeing for a King Grayskull but has been waiting for a reasonable price King even he came loose and complete.

A solid quality plastic and details.

Another came a Cygor.... the yellow green Gorilla that packs with armor and color.

Splendid!

Best Ever BAF - Fin Fang Foom #marvel

The one and only BAF (Buld-A-Figure) labelled under Hasbro on one of the first waves and last waves before they seriously cut down to mini baf.

And if you are wondering what is BAF, they are actually action figures not assemble in production but let you assemble yourself. Fancifully, label as BAF in short of Build-A-Figure.

A very innovative way to include a large figure parts in different package of figures and haunts collector to buy the full set in order to complete the final BAF.

It became rather ridiculous to assemble "mini" figures and makes the whole fun shrink.

Let us reminiscence on the good old days of big better BAFs like the Fin Fang Foom.

A big and detail green dragon that is makes assembling him a heck of a hard job since he is very difficult to hunt down if you did not manage to buy them in single set of 8 figures.

Which he is now a very increasing expensive figure to get and probably not going to be re-release forever....

What dreams and hope to see this dragon came into my collection finally arrives on an opportune time and it just lands on me to grab it at a cost that I can accept. I gave in to the inevitable force of the marvel legends and claim the dragon.

Before I even assemble him which many have seen him already. I intend to let you see him in pieces which should be more interesting in a way.

Here he goes.

The END of HULK...END #HULK

What is End Hulk? Dying old Hulk's end?

Based on the comic, it is a struggle between Hulk and Banner after a horrific war which he is the last humanity on Earth. The hate of Hulk against Banner arises within themselves. If you are interested you can read it up for more.

But over here, I finally got the End Hulk in my hands. Hulk is one of the characters which I have variations of him, likewise for Spiderman, Batman and Superman. I am still good to see another great Hulk action figure.

For End Hulk which he is one of the figures in the Marvel Legends Fin Fang Foom wave, does have some good details in him. We might not get another End Hulk made for no popular reasons so this End Hulk do not disappoint me.

With details of torn flesh and his white old hair style, he unique compare to other Hulk figures.

The weird experiment that Hasbro gave him is the gear joints that may be functional but ugly and he looks like a Hulk with mechanical joints.

With well-sculpted head and body sculpting adding up a good paint job, this End Hulk is one to pick up if you see him.

Recommended pick!

Marvelous Toad of Marvel Legends

I have only knew about the character of Toad from the X-Men movies but in a comic form, this is what I am amazed at.

Though he may not be a famous dude in in the villains of X-Men compare to Sabretooth, Mystique, he is a very unique mutant in a toad form.

We rarely have action figures for Toad and when Toybiz puts him in their Marvel Legends Series 1, he gradually becomes one of the major hit figures in the series and beyond.

Tracing back more than 10 years, this figure still makes his mark on the Marvel Legends line and I do not think we will get another Toad from Hasbro line. Even if we do, it will rarely be as good as this. For the current lines will run in priority of popular characters and fitting into their body molds. Which makes more cost effective.

So for now, Toybiz Toad still reins in the legends.

Though he has quite limited 12 points articulations being in the first series, the details and sculpt still live up to today's stands. The stitches on his outfit, pointy elves shoes, muddy brown paint shades and a toad which feels rubbery.

In terms of accessories, he comes with a base and if you count that toad that stick to his hand. That's tow!

From Head to Toe, front and back, he is don with details and paints. Excellent job.

As a collector, you should get it!

Price is running a bit pricey even for a loose figure without base. At your decent price, you will not be disappointed. This diorama base which I used here does not come with Toad.

Try not to pay a hefty price for a MISB which you will not bear to release him from the plastic prison.

Happy Hunting!

Flash Back : Mutant Monsters Wolverine #Marvel

Today, I throw you back to the 90's and zoom back to find one of the crazy idea action figures ever created.

I bumped into Mutant Monsters Wolverine upon my arrival in 1996 and he is a wolf clad with torn trails of Wolverine's X-Men classic uniform.

Is he Wolverine that turns into Wolf? Or he is just a wolf getting a hip of Wolverine.

It was design and meant to be Wolverine turning into wolf and howls his way to fight.

There is many imaginations in this figure. He can be a werewolf, Wolverine in Wolf form, Halloween figure and yes, he howls.....Sound gimmick!

In size, he stands up to 7 inches and display the best Wolverine claws that is straight and mean!

The articulations aren't great and very old school and have an ugly gaps at his armpit area. As a howling wolf, he has a jaw articulation to add on.

Overall, a very interesting action figure.

I would recommend if you are an Wolverine fan, Marvel classics, old school collectors, Monsters collectors, go for it!

He is quite rare to come in 2016. Good luck!

The Amazing SpiderHulk

The amazing Spiderman breeds a weird creation....SpiderHulk!

Basically, he is Spiderman combine with Hulk. Scientifically, you can think as a mutation or just Hulk cosplaying Spiderman or Spiderman mutate into Hulk.

Whatever reasons you can possibly imagine and I guess this is how he is being thought out by the designer who is crazy enough to try.

Lucky for his craziness and dare, we have this Amazing SpiderHulk action figure to stand among the ranks of Marvel Legends.

With the current toy trends, we will probably not going to get figures rise from such occasion.

Some things may look better now but we lost a lot of weird possibilities in what we can expect in toys now.

Let's look at SpiderHulk. This is a very well build figure with traces of 90's toys that includes a play feature that all seems lame now.

Despite the feature which adults collectors do not appreciate, he is full of surprises in sculpt and articulations especially on his fingers.

The tears of cloth revealing Hulk's green skin is commendable.

Many has complain about his play features but it was design for kids back then so appreciate the era of toys.

Now I have claim another wanted piece of fun. He is worth it!

Lord of Darkness by #Mcfarlane

McFarlane's Movie Maniacs era brought in the Lord of Darkness from the 1985 flim. The devil with big horns have a pair of boasted ego hanging over his head.

I have not watch the movie yet and guess who is cast in this film? Tom Cruise !

Never mind about the film but this figure is detail to the very bottom of his hoofs. The only accessories he came with is a sword and a display stand with a movie card.

The cloak on him is very detail and fixated his arm movements. Surprisingly, he has ball joints for his shoulders and ankle but you cannot articulate his shoulders as he is restricted by the cloak he wore.

He is pretty much rare as before and even now. So if you ever saw him, give him a chance minus the devil.

#Marvel Legends #HulkBuster

I am back to 2016 and hunting down some toys. Here is my 2016 first hunt!

The Marvel Legends HulkBuster BAF. I have patiently waiting for my right opportunity to get this guy by not getting the figures that came in this wave and it pays.

This is by far, one of the least best BAF from Hasbro and hopefully, they keep this going on and on. Looks like they do as 2016 series are looking good.

As for this Hulkbuster, in very short, you will like it or hate it that it may not be up to your mark.

Before you hate it but remember, he is a toy and meant to be one! Don't get too mess up in perfection for an action figure.

Enjoy....!
