Collection Exposed : Berserk - Guts

From Berserk, Guts a figure from the Manga comics. Honestly, this guy has been in my collection for past decade and I have no idea of his beginnings except that he is one fine figure at that time and until this time.

With a Manga origin, the figure features good pose-ability and interchangeable heads with a big sword. He also comes with a backdrop.

Presenting Guts, hawk soldier.

What's the Catch? : Orc Captain from the Lord of the Rings

The Hobbits are here again and raises a little hype over the LOTR figures lately on the market here. But not big enough to create a snowball effect yet.

For the older figures produced by ToyBiz, they are getting some attention from collectors again and gaining on. Luckily, I have been collecting LOTR for some time and do not have to fight over the general figures and prices.

But these do not deter me to scout for rare figures which I come across the market.

And here I got myself a carded piece of Orc Captain which in numbers, he is kind of rare in LOTR line. Of course there are some other rare stuff as well.

Generally, sculpt and playability are still there for Toybiz figures back in a decade ago, and he does look wicked and crude.

So here he is.......

Toy Viewing : Sentinel the Marvel Legends

Have been waiting for the Sentinel to come knocking on my door and finally, the damage is not hard.

I present you the mighty Sentinel where only the X-Men can stop him on a one to many ratio.

He is noticeable on the details that went into him. For A BAF which Marvel Legends series by ToyBiz, this is one of the best or in fact the best to my context. The later version is more of a dated figure which feature a more plastic toy appeal with electronics to add in.

For this figure, immerse detail and articulation down to the fingers, have yet to be surpassed until now. The paint job itself showing wash and wear are realistically done.

The only concern I have for him is his waist which is kind of wobbly, however, he stand very well since he has large feet and sturdy weight management. Overall, a robust toy but not for abuse.

I would say, go get him if you can locate him without a hole in your pocket as he is kind of pricey now.

I shall show you some details on the arts of Sentinel

Toy Viewing : Guile and Akuma in the dance floor

Pick a fight over the dance floor. Here comes Guile and Akuma from the Street fighter produced by NECA.

Great articulation and acceptable face sculpt other than the others in the series. For a quarter of the price of the PlayArts figures, they are a worth while finds.

They can just do some breaking on the dance floor.

Collection Exposed : Warthog from Halo

Warthog vehicle from Halo (REACH) series from McFarlane.

A huge Anti-Aircraft cross road vehicle which you can roll around. This vehicle seems nostalgic to me as I used to have such similar jeep back in the childhood days made from cheap plastic. The whole vehicle is pretty much feels the same but with a touch of details added to it.

I do not play the game and I know nuts about the game source. But I like vehicles which are well made and they are going for a good price for this Christmas season. I can even get two for price of one on usual market price.

It comes with a Gun Turret that fits at the back of the vehicle. Very cool.

I actually wanted it for my Metal Gear Solid figures but realize the size is meant for 5 inches figures like the Halo. It is still cool to display with the MGS around. Snake posed well besides the Warthog but unable to sit him in. However, Colossus from Marvel Universe of 3.75 inch sits well in the driver seat but standing besides the Warthog makes him a midget.

Some commends even the Halo guys cant sit in well too. Is the scale out for Warthog?

The only feature is the gun turret and it rolls well. That's all. There are no gimmicks for this vehicle, so do not expect wonders. Overall, this is one piece of good toy car to hang around if you are into army stuff, however, I do not think the Joe's is a good proportion to it but they will sit in well like Colossus does since they of the same scale.

I reckon you go get it if they are on good offers at your friendly neighbourhood. Merry Christmas !!!

What's the Catch ? : Mortal Kombat by Infinite Concepts

Hey ! It has been a month since my last post. Very busy month with nephew and niece coming over for holidays. Christmas is also round the corner !!!

Having them around is great fun and joy though a bit tiring. But managed to share some toys collection with them while they Nerf around with their guns.

Pit stop for this month of hunting leads me to finally got hold of a complete loose set of Mortal Kombat figures from a collector. An unexpected find indeed.

Obvious cleaning needed as they looks like they have not bath for years. Sticky isn't it.

A bit of an introduction to this line of figures which existed since1999 and produced by Infinite Concepts (I have no idea what other toys they made and if they still in biz). Anyway, they are in conjunction with the Street Fighters figures by Resaurus back then.

With sizes up to 8 inches, they boasts a C.O.G.J.I.T.™ (Center of Gravity Joint Integrity Technology™) which makes the figures stand properly balanced. Very big technology tagline for a toy. Actually, I do not see any difference as the figure still fell.

Sad to say, they only managed to mass market the first series and 2nd series end up as prototype. They made me go through the research about their origins and dug out the beginings.

A total of six figures which includes, Shang Tsung, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, Mileena and Liu Kang.

A rare find for such figures and they do live up to its articulations and details back in those days but even now, they are still in a considerable good level of standard for action figures.

See here to enjoy.
