Collection Exposed : He-Man & Skeletor Vintage Classics

At last, after so many years, they are finally able to stand up to this publicity and still around to be on the internet, in this blog.

When Masters of the Universe, first came out, it was about 1982 and we welcome them. They are so much fun and heroic in many ways for the kids back then.

Now all have grown up and Mattel has re-launched the classics line into collectors edition for the then children, who should be in their 30's now. With earning power and by the power of Grayskull, the action figures grown bigger, better and more costly. These figures are classified for adult collectors and children now, will not know who He-Man was and there is practically no play value to them. But we still continue to adore them.

With the on-going of the current classics line, the vintage line is still a fun collection to go with.

As age catches up with them, they have settled with disease on their legs or even end up in natural "amputation". However, with the new era, there are new innovation techniques to "cure" their disease and get them standing up again. All thanks to the good folks and fans out there, you can save your vintage collection action figures and put them back to their former glory again.

You may not get such quality of toys now as many will shun them. Featuring a basic five points articulation, cheap plastics armor and accessories, a rubber head, minimal paint job and out of proportions figure. Both cats are simple animal toys that couple with armor. All these are amazing back in the 80's and makes them an iconic vintage toys now.

Without much a do, let us welcome our favorite characters from the MOTU, He-Man & Battle-Cat, Skeletor & Panthor.

Collection Exposed : Sentry from the Marvel Legends

Here is Superman version of Marvel. Ever wonder how many similar comic characters are chunk out by both Marvel and DC comics. To me, Superman is the strongest character of all super heroes and until, I came across Sentry, whom I have no idea.

One thing is written, he is not a natural superhero but a self-induced superpowers. On a natural aspect, Superman still supreme. Let us give this guy some recognition and learn his presence. He still got an "S" on his waist.

Robert Reynolds is his name.

This figure has 4 variants and here is one of them. Good handsome face sculpt but he feels lie of small in size to me. His cape has nice folds but I just don't like the way it is attached to him. I still prefers how it is done on Superman.

He has good fingers articulations and basic arms, limbs movements.

A nice figure to add to my collection.

Toy Viewing : Solomon Grundy

Solomon Grundy, a zombie supervillian, created by DC Comics.

He is not a welcoming figure for all and not as popular as Bizarro and being in this figure created by Alex Ross, he is not a figure in most of the wanted list, judging from the weak reviews he has in the internet. Eventually, led me to guess that his popularity is limited.

However, I like the sculpt and zombie creation of him in this figure. The features and details are in depth but lacking articulations for his lower part of his body. He is basically a statue form other than turning his head and waist together with the arms and elbows.

I have searching for a long time for him since I have missed him during the retail period, so it is one zombie figure I classified him under more than a comic character. He can stand in the group of my darker collection.

Well, if you are a fan for Solomon or wanted a figure to add into your zombie collection, he is one perfect fit.

I heard there will be another up size Solomon Grundy coming up from DC and he does looks good too. Big and detail? Let us look forward but for now, this is one Grundy whom you should not miss.

What's the Catch? : Marvel Legends Iron Monger BAF

Another great figure gets into the net today is the Iron Monger from the Marvel Legends Iron Man series Build-A-Figure line.

I managed to get this without having to buy all the unnecessary figures in the wave which I am not interested and with the chance to get this Iron Monger only, I jumped in.

For a BAF, he is kind of small and by far, this should be the "biggest" Hasbro has given us since Toybiz, if I am not wrong? Well, it just shows how far we have travelled and toys are shrinking in size even for BUILD UP FIGURES !!!

He is just about the height of the ML Juggernaut and slightly smaller than him in width. The one good solid thing about him is his original colors which is the not painted but just originates from the plastics itself. The shine and swivels you see are all the plastics. Awesome.

Very poseable and even able to balance on single leg stance. He is not heavy but quite sturdy. If you have the chance and a Marvel fan, give him a try if he is in a reasonable price range for you.

Meantime, its show off for Iron Monger.

Collection Exposed : Malebolgia

Back in 1995, this Malebolgia figure is born and releases a series of demonic frenzy over him. He was a big figure to packaged on card during that days of Spawn craze.

A true 90's action figure which can still stand a bit of abuse and comes with a brush like hair. He is about 12 inches but with the green pock mark skin and pot belly, somehow, he reminds me of Grinch.

He is ugly and kind of scary to own for any kid who doe not want a nightmare. However, a decent collection to add to your monsters if you are into weird stuff.

Spotted with basic articulations on both arms, elbows, wrists, legs, knees, ankles, neck and opening mouth, he can be fun to play with.

The details on him are immersed even until today, he can easily fights off many competitors.

Portraits of Toyz : Teela the Warrior Goddess

From the infamous Masters of the Universe, Teela is one female whom you cannot miss. Why? There is only few ladies in it and let alone sexy outfit.

This is the original Teela figure I got from the original 1980's toy maker, Mattel. I got her loose as she is right here and She just popped by for an audition.

She does have some resemblance of Princess Leia when she was captured as chained up as a sexy slave next to Jabba. Another beauty and the beast example.

In her age, ladies somehow are projected for big hips and classical look.

She just cannot pose well and I just have to make adjustment to get her best shot. See if I have done the job.

What's the Catch?: The Mummy

Who is afraid of the Mummy?

In the back and white silver screen days, monsters of such are terrifying and Boris Karloff has brought one of these monsters back to life in his movies, The Mummy.

From the Universal Studios, Sideshow Toy gave us a version of these replica back in the 1998 and he is one good classic figure. If you want to see how Mummies are originally depicted in movies, this is the guy to watch.

Comes with a detailed base and accessories to fit in, you can create a nightmare for yourself.

This is the first figure of the wave I managed to get hold of and hopefully, I can get the rest of them, like Frankenstein and Woflman.

Meantime, some history and interesting features of him.

Watch Movie : Despicable ME 2

When Despicable Me came out in the silver screen, it was not a big bam at the beginning. Creating a new breed of cute cuddly minions to entice the animation market into the children's world needs creativity and timing. Not all are successful but this time, the minions work hard for it and they have hold their position in the hearts of all children and adults.

Here is Despicable Me 2 and I will watch it as the first movie is funny yet can be watch over again for me.

This time, Gru, is going to save the world? He is suppose to be despicable and somehow the three little girls have soften him in the first movie where is returns the Moon to the world.

Now what will he be up to and how his reliable minions are there to support him. Watch out for this funny animation.

Here are the trailers and some minions stupid moves for fun. Hilarious little creature.

Portraits of Toyz : Pile Driver - I am Piling Legend

For the start of July 2013, Introducting PileDriver from the Wreckers? How many really know this guy? I don't!

Pile Driver is a mechanical device driving piles into the ground for the foundation of buildings. Am I in the wrong blog?

Actually, he is part of the team called Wreckers who obviously, does bad stuff and ever works with Loki.

As an action figure, he can can be easily missed due to his low profile identity of you are not a comic book reader for Marvels.

For a kid, he is good for it's size but the colors does not stands out to attract them.

For adult collectors, if you know him, you will claim him but another setback is that you will be getting the same body for his partner, Thunderball, except for the change in head and color. Hasbro just re-use the same body parts to create another character and package up to sell to you.

With me, he just got to pose and he does have great poses to show off.
