Mutant Earth : Crippler
The last of the figure in this series of Mutant Earth and here comes Crippler. I do not read the comics so I cannot relate any background on this guy.
However, in an action figure perspective, I can show you how wicked this guy is. I do not know what to call him...a beast? He is definitely not a man but rather an alien being.
If you have saw the other figures in the series which I reviewed and posted, the detail characteristics of these guys are on the league. There is a 360 degrees of details going on around him with a bird like scales running through his body, featuring bird like feet. He is also mechanically designed at the back that shapes like a claw that I use it to hold his weapon. It may not be that purpose but it holds well.
Since he is an early 2000 figure, joints are pretty much basic with no ball joints but simple cut joints for shoulders, hips, wrists and waist. In total of 7 articulations only.
Standing at 7.5 inches, heavy top and bird feet, he cannot stand well but thoughtfully, a base is provided in each figure. A simple yet detailed desert sand ground base to hold them.
Crippler came with 2 accessories such as his power machine gun and a big hammer. I do not see why he has an advance machine gun and yet needs a clumsy hammer to lug around for battle. It simply makes no battle sense. Well that's comics and fantasy.
For all the details put in for the body and armor with a new character, you cannot doubt the creations of Stan Winston who has brought us Terminator and Predator.
With 2014 closing, this makes a good completion for my Mutant Earth figures.

Mutant Earth : Gallowz
I cannot say much about the background of this figure but sadly the only I knew about him is his name....Gallowz and he is designed by the late Stan Winston in 2001.
The idea of his fascination of bringing his great creations into toy line through his new designs seems to work incredibly good but not so much on the popularity for the line even until today.
They have somehow went into a black hole of toys that have almost been forgotten or even known. Sad but not today, for today, they shall rise again and shine for the moment here.
Gallowz will be the fifth installment figures which I have chanced upon to complete this set of six.
He is detailed to the ends and in my opinion, his design inspires mainly from the Mummy based on the body texture. He has spinal bones jutting out of his back, bird like mechanical claws, brains held by armor and rib cage that opens up to reveal his electronic system.
What is he? An walking robotic mechanism Mummy? Frankly, I do not know
The only accessory besides the base is his pet bird perching on his shoulder which looks like a size down vulture.
Standing at a height of 8 inches, this menacing figure comes with articulations on his neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and ankles accounting to 11 in total. I would say it is quite good enough to impress me.
If you ever saw this guy, grab him and open him out! He is not meant to stay in the package.

Mutant Earth : Maloch Holiday
From my Mutant Earth collection, I have delayed the shoot for Maloch and here is the time for him to take on the center stage.
I do not know much about this character but it is one creation from Stan Winston studio who brought us the infamous Terminator and Aliens. So how wrong can you go for the toys that he had designed.
He is an early 21st Century figure and even now the details on him alone is of great standards. You cannot say much about his articulations which is a typical 9 pointer and comes with an interchangeable arm for a power packed machine gun. You can plug it into any of the both arms for a change.
Immense details on machine parts and alien like body are just some highlights for this figure. A part Alien part machine hybrid and he is one of the four figures I had in this series which I have shared in my blog.

Toy Viewing : TRAKK -- MUTANT EARTH
Yet another toy from the Mutant Earth series which I have. This is the 3rd figure which I have showcased here.
He is Trakk, human, Earth Guardian, warrior. Big muscle, big sword, big guns !!!
He reminds me of the Rock from WWE. The physic and the look tells it all.
Anyway, another piece of detailed toy from Stan Winston studio.

Toy Viewing : Red Vane
Who is Red Vane?
A mysterious walking Enigma, raised from the dead by Alien technology. Sounds like a bad toy !!!
Created by Stan Winston's Mutant Earth Series, he is one of the great figures in the line.
Standing just 6 inches and sculpted with mechanical parts revealing in his torso and torn up scalp, he wields a pair of pistols to extinguish his enemies.
His head does resembles G.I. Joe's Cobra commander.

Portraits of Toyz : Horgg.....the Dismantler
Horgg from the Mutant Earth. Created by Stan Winston who is famous for his works such as Aliens.
This toy line dates back to the early 2000 and the figures are amazingly detailed but articulations are bad on this Horgg. He only got a waist and one shoulder twist. This is it!!!
But the colour and the immerse details that went into him are needless to say. If you can source him out, get him. Since this is not a popular toy figure, you should be able to get it at a good price but I do see some rocket prices in Ebay. Good Luck.

What's the Catch?: Mutant Earth - Stan Winston
As I was browsing and looking for credible finds of toys, I stumbled across a set of action figures from Stan Winston creation.
These figures dates back to 2001 when Stan winston started to realize his creations into toys, which in the article of ToyFare (October 2001), he commended Todd McFarlane for doing a great job on his creations like Pumpkin Head, Terminator , Edward Scissorshands etc. And he somehow decides to bring his creation into reality by himself.
Passed away on 15th June 2008, Stan Winston has created notable creatures which we grew up knowing in fear and fantasy and now I able to get a piece of the master's mind in action figures.
Since I just got them, they will remain in the box until I release them for my photo-taking. For now, I just took them in MIB first.
Due to age, some yellowing of the bubbles are inevitable but I do not care as long as the figures are in great condition and the price is good.
Speaking of the figures, they are well ahead of their time in 2001, just like McFarlane's figures. The details and attention to hide joints are given serious thoughts. You can tell that if you observe closely.
The cards of each figure bears it's characters' pictures and each figure comes with a base and accessories.
But why do these figures aren't well received simply because they are not as popular. A niche group may know Mutant Earth or even read about them. So at that time the price of these figures are surprisingly reasonable around USD 10, which Stan may want to market at an affordable price.
Most collectors goes for brand and popularity. At times, you are missing the idea behind. I am glad these did not sky rocketed in price. Even as I mentioned the cool side of these toys, these figures are not going to hike up because Stan Winston's passing. We should give credits to Stan Winston's for his innovations for the movies which his studio ihas contributed and he dares his creations into action figures, which are affordable.
So before I take chances to portrait them, here are they as carded. Oh, this set actually have 6 figures, I only got the best 4.
At first, I only wanted to get Horrg, which resembles Stan Winston's "The Swamp Thing" but all 4 displays great details to my surprise. So here they are.
Their next appearance will be under "Portrait of Toys" column.
Trakk
Red Vane
Moloch
Horgg
