What's the Catch? : DUKE NUKEM

DUKE NUKEM......I don't play the game, I don't even know this guy. Weird ???!!!

Now I got his action figures. What nonsense is this? You may ask.

And I will say, that is toy collecting.

Upon googling, I came to know he is a popular game character back in 1990's til recent Neca new make of Duke Nukem Forever figure. I even found out that the game is full of Aliens, muscle and babes....

Duke is total combo of Arnold, Rambo and City hunter play. All in one hero.

Why I get them. Cheap and detail figures. I mean real cheap for a carded figure although card condition is bad. To me, this is an opened toy.

I actually like the Octabrain which is very cool and detail. Pig cop is another cool pig to have too.

Duke is a regular action figure to me.

But toys like these are hard to come by and has to be preserved. It is a no competition collection and so is the price.

Made in 1997 and by Resaurus ( the company that made my street fighters collection).

I am missing the Battle lord which destiny may bring it up to me. Time being is to tear it up and release the beast!!!

Hmm...wonder if they are considering to produce the figure in the last portrait.

Fully accessorized

Comes with a stand to simulate floating action

Watch Movie : Spiderman 4

Yet another comic flick with a story from the beginning and now they say " It's an untold story of Spiderman". Frankly, I am not a comic book reader so I do not know the true background of it in comic book.

Movies are meant to be spinning entertainment and money, so Marvel and Hollywood are just making the bucks out of the summer time.

With Spidey swaying around town should make a watchable 3D version.

Superhero, movie, good and bad villians. Here is Spiderman 4 with a less nerdy feel.

What's the Catch? : Orc Overseer - The Lord of the Rings

Here comes another mid year and soon it will be Christmas. Talking about Winter in this Hot Summer days. By the time we are fried, it is the pouring rain or snow for some people.

Whenever we are, a good catch is an exciting catch with a price to match below expectation. Here is the fun and satisfaction of the toy hunt.

It has been quite some time since I got hold of a real catch at a good price. As lord of the Rings has passed it's decade anniversary, we are looking forward to the backward series of the Hobbits in December.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for the toys to be made. Hopefully, it can match Toybiz standards or better. We shall see....

Ok, here is what I got....The Orc OverSeer from Isengard, who serves Saruman to whip out the Orcs

This piece is rare to me and I believe it is, since I only get to see him priced ridiculously high and uncommon. That makes it rare, to me.

Does not matter.

It comes with a freshly dug out Orc and an "Alien copied" shell.

OverSeer comes with a whip and an evil face.

Another add on to my LOTR collection.

Collection Exposed : Men In Black - Zap-Em Van

The Men in Black is back in 3. Movie is here and the toy line shrinks...in size. That is in trend for toys now.

I am showing you my Zap-Em Van from the first MIB movie and that was back in 1998. This is the van that you saw in the movie where the BUG uses it to travel around town to locate the Universe. You will know what I meant if you saw the movie. No total resemblance since it child's play version.

This is an old school fun toy meant for play and fun. Comes with a space saucer and a Edgar crashing out of the windscreen. Who does such toys nowadays?

Watch Movie : Men In Black 3 (MIB)

It has been more than a decade since the First MIB gets into the movie screen and now as Aliens are back in town. MIB is back for another money spin with Will Smith (matured!!!).

Back in time and looking for his partner. Time traveling, my favorite!!!

A flick worth looking forward again for us who zap start with the Men In Black.

What's the Catch? : Optimus Prime Battle Rig Blaster

Yet another real catch is here! The Optimus Prime Battle Rig Blaster !!!

Appeared in 2006 when the first transformers movie is launched. Hasbro came out with this fantastic truck transformed into shooting blaster toy design and when I saw it over the preview back then, I was amazed by the design and playability of Nerf gun.

This is a toy that is both playable in truck mode and gun mode. The gun is well hidden in the truck mode and you cannot tell from the look it. The functional parts like blaster act as a exhaust in truck mode and the handle which pulls back for transformation do not seems out of place.

With a flip up, it turns into a blaster revealing Prime's robotic hand. But do be careful when you do the flipping action especially for kids.

The three darts provided can be hidden inside the truck. Push in one dart into the gun nozzle and cock back, then squeeze the trigger and pop goes the dart. It shot far and hard, considering it as a toy. So be real careful again. Do not look into the nozzle when loaded!!!.

There are two more designs of the blaster but I still prefer this version which is fantastic in design and good truck mode.

Finally, a transformer toy which I can somehow put some abuse into and play hard with it.

Somehow, I still find the quality of the toys from the first movie is better. This may be partly due to the rising raw material costs of plastics after Revenge of the Fallen and toys in DOTM series seems to be on a "fragile" and frail side.

Don't you think Action figures are getting smaller in size and pricier now? So does transformers too.

Packaging

Truck mode

Truck front with Prime car plate.

Back of the dump truck with trigger

Rolling wheels with "Transformers" embossed. Kiddy appeal.
Impressive embossed Autobot logo. Great quality

Back of packaging showing transformation

Semi-transformation mode

Blaster mode

Size comparison with Supreme Roll Out Command Optimus Prime

Overall, get this for yourself. The truck looks like an 80's era of rolling truck which I used to play and it is hardy in appeal. Roll out and dump in.

What's the Catch? : Animated Megatron (Leader Class)

Transformers in animation. Never did I imagine myself befriending the Animated series, which I used to see them as crude designs.

However, chance upon a time when I was introduced to Animated Megatron......and started to take notice of him. A real bad ass indeed and very well design as the cartoon.

Together with Leader Class Megatron, I also gotten the Supreme Animated Prime - Roll Out Command. In many reviews, this is a failure to most fans. In my opinion, Yes, he does look a kiddy toy but he is huge and he is licensed to Tomy. No wonder, a more kiddy friendly version.

OK, back to Megatron, I would think he is one of the best out of all animated. Sound and amazing helicopter mode. But bad side is some bad paint jobs here and there.

Nevertheless, get him if you are selective just like me. Will inttroduce the other few animated transformers which interest me as we go along. Just have to be selective to my taste.

For now, It's Megatron time!!!

Portraits of Toyz : She Ra, Princess of Power

She Ra, Princess of Power.

Do you know her? If you do, you will know that she is the sister of Prince Adam.

Oh who is Prince Adam? He is He-Man, a more famous personality.

Like He-Man, Adora wields the Sword of Protection and transform herself into She-Ra.

Actually, both tried hard to hide their Man power or Girl power by playing foolish. Anyway, everybody can tell they are He-Man and She-Ra except themselves.

Talking about my portrait of She Ra, I have to travel to the planet of Ethernia and gain special entry to the palace to propose my intention of private portrait session with the princess.

Posing in her natural innocence of beauty and hopefully my pictures play justice to her shyness hidden in strength. Here she is in spotlight.

Collection Exposed : Violator Chopper -- McFarlane

Violator Chopper from McFarlane, an old school toy and one hell of a detail falls into this hell chopper. Where would you get another comic chopper now with the escalating cost of plastics and inflation, driving down the sizes of toys, yet pricing higher.

In my opinion, another chopper which can match this bugger will be the GhostRider bike set, which is produced like 5 years back for the 1st Movie.

Anyway, here is another collection exposed.

Comes with bendable Violator. How many vehicles you bought comes with action figure. Usually it states...action figures sold separately. This bike is sized up big.

Box Art is great with both comic and actual picture of the ride.
